That game isn't listed on the page I use to see which games have that obnoxious protection mechanism but I suppose it's still possible. Anyway, luckily enough, DVD-RW drives are dirt cheap these days even if you end up needing a new one. You can pick one up for less than the price of a new computer game last I looked and they only seem to go down in price as time goes on.
