We went for a walk tonight and saw four buzzards. They hunt over the bog in the valley, and as well as soaring they were flying low and quite close over us as we walked, crying so much they sounded like seagulls.

And my sister has made an apploffee pie (like banoffee, only with apples.)

Some freinds of mine once took a holiday cottage, near which buzzards had nested - they used to see all six - 2 a and 4 j circling over the cottage every morning.

I saw one yeaterday, "making lazy circles in the air".

We were very lucky about the buzzards - they'd never nested in that tree before.
I didn't know that about kestrels. I've mostly met peregrines on the Anglesey cliffs, especially a pair that nested in the same area for years - then the RSPB found the male in the sea - shot!Grrrr!
(The magpie is the only predatory icon I've got.)
