You need a bracer, and a long one, I used to whack myself something silly with my bow string when I was about 10, but as soon as I found the long bracer I was sorted.

I don't get to shoot now because of work (boo!) and would buy one in a shot if I had a spare £200 and could go out more often. Heck I miss my bow I'd be happy to go out and shoot him more often, let alone a new one.
