Note to self: Do not carry charged batteries in the same pocket as loose change. Owies.

The book!Lexicon issue is grinding merrily on. I'm reading [livejournal.com profile] praetorianguard's posts on it at the minute. The stupid, it burns like my battery/coin circuit. Please to stop before you get JKR and Warner Bros so annoyed they say 'Right! No more fandom!' See [livejournal.com profile] legionseagle tearing their arguments to tiny shreds in her journal.

I've just posted on it over on my lj. The defence RDR Books have come out with amounts to "No more fandom": they're claiming that in knowing about, not suing and making nice remarks about the HP Lexicon over the last 5 years JKR and Warner Brothers have waived all their rights to enforce their copyright and trade marks with regards to a for profit version published now. I expect they'll lose, but make no mistake; the argument they're running is essentially "She should have sued all of you at the beginning."

Incidentally, don't you think it's rather bizarre that both [livejournal.com profile] elanor_isolda and Steve himself in his latest offering are coming out with the "It's not as if I'm aiming to make a lot of money out of this."

How much money he makes out of it is a question of his business competence; that he set out to make any money goes to his integrity.
