My dad is painting the front hall and the landings; they are originally a Regency sort of green, going right up through all three floors. My mam decided she wanted them magnolia (ugh), but the green, as I pointed out, matches the carpet and the curtains and complements the woodwork and the white ceilings. Magnolia (he's halfway up the stairs at the minute) makes the carpet look dirty and the ceiling glaring. I'm holding out for a warm pink, myself, but we have to cover the green in any case.
Apparently there has been a bumper crop of apples this year. I don't know what we're going to do with all ours. They aren't terribly nice as eaters, so we're having apple cake and crumble and apple sauce and who knows what else. The attic room is half covered in them.
Still no news of the container.
