A bit of politics

So Tony Blair has shaken hands with Colonel Gadaffi. Great historic moment, but he's had plenty of practice. He's all pally-wally with Gerry Adams and Martin McGuiness, after all. I'm just wondering why he's not giving the Lockerbie bombers £3000 pounds each and an apology for accusing them of such a crime.

Forgive the snarx. For those unintiated into the joys of Northern Irish politics, part of the package to negotiate paramilitary ceasefires was the release of the so-called 'prisoners of war' from prison, together with £3000 of 'compensation'. It's not even comparable to the Guantanamo Bay situation; these are criminals, British citizens (even if some of them are unwillingly so!), in British prisons, convicted in British courts of maiming, killing and blowing up other British civilians. And that's British taxpayers' money they walked off with, too. Note that a lot of them are also on British welfare, and use British public hospitals to repair injuries inflicted on them by rival paramilitaries. Gah.

I don't even want to think about the Gadaffi situation, it makes my blood boil. The guy's a grade A terrorist scumbag. We should be decorating the walls with his brains, not getting pally with him. Ugh. I suppose that's the way politics is, though: utterly hypocrital at the best of times.

Hi.

Could be worse. We could have zero real opposition to Blair... Oh wait... Damn.
