Well, I installed Firefox 2. Not only are my bookmarks and history still there, but so are all the search engines I had before :) The tabs look a little strange, but I expect I'll soon get used to that.
You can get the 1.x style tab close button by going to the about:config page and setting the browser.tabs.closeButtons option to 3 if that's what's throwing you off.
I'm accustomed to them already. What happened to the 'do not accept 3d-party cookies' options? (Yeah, I know it doesn't block them all) Do I have to go messing about in about:config for that too? Blech. On the bright side, I can hack into my family's accounts if they don't relise that you can display all saved passwords. :)
