I hope everyone is having a happy Christmas.

My loot: Master and Commander two-disc special edition, two books, a red purse, a pair of slippers (one size too small), Doctor Who calendar, calender with owls on it, Doctor Who poster, claydough snowman for decorating the tree, chocolate.

We've been watching the PotC2 DVD I gave [livejournal.com profile] elerrina_amanya. The plot is a bit holey compared to the first one. Just why is the East India Company guy able to go around arresting all these people? Why are the marines taking orders from a civilian?

Must go now to get the VCR revved up in time for Runaway Bride.

I think the marines are meant to belong to the East India Company (Just guessing, mind you). No idea what a member of the East India Company is doing in the West Indies though. Maybe the writers/producers etc. are very bad at Geography? Or have taken their massacre of historical accuracy to even greater lengths than in the first film?

I think the marines that arrest Will and Elizabeth are the marines that come ashore with him at the beginning. And in regards to everything else, I just remind myself that this is history seen through the Disney reality distortion filter, and try to focus my attention on the handsome men. Which is made harder by Scruffington (and there's another part of the plot that doesn't make sense...)
