First reaction: goodness, he's cute (the attractiveness of Rob-Morrow-as-Don can be described by many words, but I would not include 'cute' among them :) )
Second reaction: he looks about 16, seriously (hey, if Don had that face in high school, no wonder he had no trouble getting a date to the prom!)
Third reaction: Joel was such a DORK. :D
Fourth reaction: Back in the days when Rob still believed in moving his mouth to talk--sometimes I have to rewind Don's lines so I can understand them. Is that him doing Californian or something?

I've never seen Numb3rs but I'm Californian and I ... move my mouth to talk. LOL But Joel was from NY and the character talked A LOT so many that's Morrow's way of distinguishing them? I dunno ...

Well, he's from NY himself, isn't he, so I suppose he'd use his own accent for Joel. Whatever he's doing with Don is the put-on accent.

It's just particularly funny because his Numb3rs character is so not a dork, all tough and competent and stoical. :)

Awww. I discovered Northern Exposure after Numb3rs, but my good friend feliciakw did it the other way around. I enjoy his performance in both roles, mostly because they're so DIFFERENT.

(p.s. if you can watch any of the blooper stuff from Northern Exposure, please do so. Rob is hysterical, and the rest of the cast is just as bad. *g*)

I'm not sure if Northern Exposure ever made its way over here, but it seems vaguely familiar to me, so I suppose it could well have.

Yeah, if you saw a clip of Don and of Joel and you didn't know that one was a decade earlier than the other, I don't think you'd realise they were the same actor. Joel manages to make Charlie look cool :-P
