Numb3rs 100 (5.21): Disturbed

I am so far behind with this tv thing....

  • I cannot even count all the sneaky little nods to early episodes. There was the s1 music they used to play on the Charlie-visions (although I think I heard it in The Fifth Man too), the prism pendant in Charlie's office window (he must have found it in the move), the black jacket Charlie was wearing when they discovered the bodies in the garage was one he wore a couple of episodes in s1, the return of the hot zone/sprinkler equation....

  • I liked seeing all the team fretting over Charlie at the start. Liz is getting rather Megan-like in the absence of Megan. And Nikki's resigned, "Yeah, he's ours." when Charlie turns up at the crime scene.

  • David doing the Charlie analogy, and Charlie doing his own "Let me do this one. That means 'get your ass in gear'." Heee!

  • Don sleeping on the Eppes sofa, minus shirt and plus bandage. I have trouble believing that Alan knew Don was on the sofa instead of in a bed, especially given the fact that he didn't have five duvets, ten pillows and a hot-water bottle. The possibilty that he lay down to wait for Charlie and feel asleep fills me with glee.

  • More Don and Charlie interaction. I love how at home Don is in the Craftsman. "You're in my spot." "I like it here." Yes, Donnie, we know, to the point where casual viewers are under the impression that you still live with Alan and Charlie.

  • "I feel like the job doesn't own me any more." Oh, Don! *<3s Don* And Charlie's reaction ("Who are you, and what have you done with my brother?") was hilariously true.

  • "I've been shot, I've been beaten, look at all the sports I played as a kid, but I've never been laid up like this before." That was the sound of a thousand Don-whump fics being Jossed :D

  • Aw, poor Charlie, dreaming of Amita in danger. And Amita doesn't have a clue why she got that heartfelt kiss in the office.

  • Angsty Charlie is so adorable.

  • Charlie's wide variety of discombombulated faces when David sends him to see Conspiracy Nut amused me.

  • Larry, you are slightly insane, but we all love you anyway.

  • I loved Amita coming to Don with her analysis of Charlie's data. I have this thing for them acting like siblings, and them putting their heads together for their Charlie is just love.

  • Don walking back into the FBI in that brown shirt and taking up the reins was nice. "You heard the man on desk duty."

  • Charlie working with his earphones in and the conversation in the solarium were both very obvious callbacks to the start of the series.

  • Creepy serial killer is creepy.

  • Loved loved loved the family scene at the end, with Charlie curled up with Amita on the swing, snarking gently at Don. And continuing the sprinkler theme, Don and Charlie grinning at each other like idiots as they get wetter and wetter, and then heading for the house with an arm-round-the-shoulders hug. <3

  • I wouldn't have minded if that had been the finale, actually.

so, is Don turning into Sheldon, or is Sheldon turning into Don?
;)
