Sadface here too, though we get it a lot later here in the UK.
It's the one series I really regret my husband didn't live long enough to see. He would have loved it (he was an applied mathematician, and I always feel a little glow of happiness when something is referred to that he used to talk to me about)
That's how I got one of my friends to watch it--her husband studied applied maths, and her first reaction to Charlie (moodiness and numbers and all) was "omg it's my husband I love this show."
The fans are mobilizing even now; maybe we'll at least get a full season to go out on?
It's also been a godsend in another respect. I'm writing a historical novel where the MFC is a mathematician (pure mathematician, but I've nicked a lot of my husband's characteristics for her) and I've been getting comments like "But people don't behave like that!" (oh, yes, they so do! Trance-like states where they absolutely don't know what's going on and something strange when it comes to understanding other people) and "What makes you think anybody would have the slightest interest in someone who does mathematics?" It has been so nice to be able to say "What about 'Numb3rs'?"
