Doctor Who: Vampires of Venice

• The Doctor crashing Rory's stag night worked about as well as can be expected. Wonder how he managed to get Rory out of there and into the TARDIS without being glassed.


• Poor Rory! "According to this, I am your eunuch." Coming as a rider to being told his fiancée kissed someone else the night before the wedding, too.


• "Mummy's hydrating." LOL!


• I liked Rory sidling cautiously away from the gunpowder.


• So. What's worse than vampires?


• It was of course blatantly obvious who was going to be the mole, and discussion about who was Amy's brother was just a bit cringe-worthy.


• Rory, your timing is terrible.


• Ofsted! And nice disruption of the perception filter, Amy.


• So, the cracks in the universe make a return.


• Oooh, way to make the Doctor angry: don't find out the name of someone before you murder them.


• Ah no! Poor Guido! Also, thanks for killing off all the black characters, Moff.


• Um. That's bad CGI, heh.


• Rory with the broom FTW. And Amy with the hand mirror. Liked her classic scold-and-snog move, too.


• Ah, Rory has succumbed to the I'm-not-leaving-you attitude.


• Doctor, nothing good happens when you climb lightning rods, remember?


• Aw no, another dead species. How come the space fish in the water would eat their mother, and how come she still looked human without the perception filter?


• Amy and her boys. Heeee!

I liked Rory sidling cautiously away from the gunpowder.
That was about the point where I declared him my people. We do our research and we back away from the Potential Certain Death, yes we do!

I was eesh about Guido and Isabella, but Guido=awesome.
But it's always bad CGI.

I like Rory. He's sensible and intelligent and has a working sense of self preservation. And the Doctor is kind-of-mostly starting to figure out that he needs to stop endangering his companions, even if they keep endangering themselves.

I also approve of Rory and should acquire an icon of him. Hopefully the Moff will not give him the Mickey treatment.

I feel that the CGI was especially bad this episode though. They should stick to spaceships on bits of string, they do it better.

The Mill are especially bad at moving parts, I find. This is why you should always use animatronics.

That and when you need to recycle it ten years later you still have it and it still works.
