Personal Fanon meme
Gakked from everyone, practically:
Name a character and I'll give you three or more "facts" from my personal fanon about that character.
My fandoms: Doctor Who, Star Wars, Harry Potter, BSG, assorted SF and children's books (check my interests), probably some others I've forgotten....

-Wanted to be a mediwizard when he was very small so that he could find a cure for his parents, but when he went to Hogwarts he realised that he didn't have enough talent for that, and later that even if his parents were instantly cured they would still be strangers.
-Asked Hermione to the ball in GoF because he genuinely fancied her, and was very disappointed to find that she was going with someone else. He ended up having a pretty good time with Ginny, once they had stopped waltzing, even though he thinks she'd be a bit overwhelming as a permanent girlfriend.

(Actually, I would also love to know what Gregor and Keitin would make of each other if they ever found themselves in the same universe)

I think Keit would be dubious about the concept of a good Emperor, and if Gregor just heard Keiten's life story he'd think, "Another ferocious woman for Miles", but if they actually got to know each other they'd get on well.
Keitin has an excellent memory, supplemented by a private electronic journal she's been keeping since she was ten years old, which she stores on the datapad she always carries. Rebel Heart is meant to be an edited version of this.
Generally, she gets on better with boys than girls, simply because she's been brought up with boys. She gets on best with her cousin Dan out of her family.
She has thick curly hair which she keeps long as per Alderaanian tradition, but every year or so she gets tired of the weight of it and chops a lump off the bottom herself.
As a teenager she feels a misfit, but she doesn't realise how comfortable it is to be an Avram with money and a myriad of cousins of various degrees and a guaranteed 'in' to the top layer of Alderaanian society until it's all gone.

Also I ship Luke/Keitin like a very shippy thing.
I wondered what Keitin would make of a benevolent emperor!

The 'ordinaryish person's story woven around events I'm already familiar with' fic. I love those terribly,
Yes, me too. Some day I'm going to get around to a sequel, but that's harder because I've run out of familiar events. I've also been working lately on an expansion and revision of Rebel Heart itself.
Also I ship Luke/Keitin like a very shippy thing.
Heh heh heh. Whatever gave you that idea? :-P

I definitely found it through your LJ but I can't remember whether we'd friended each other or not - I think I was just on a random 'oooh, people who have Antonia Forest as an interest' trawl.

Keiten just wandered in and was like 'Hi, I'm canon', though.
You've almost persuaded me to go off and write "Luke and Keiti Live Together in a Nicle Little Temple and Have Ten Jedi Babies" *hnrr hnrrr*
Seriously, I don't know why SW hasn't got a uterine replicator when they're so good with prosthetic hands and stuff. (Doylist answer: It was invented by a man, and then continued by more men to eager to get to the CRASH BANG bits to do any thinking).

Hee! Little Shmi, Little Bayle, Little... uh, did Leia's adoptive mother ever get a name beyohd 'Mrs Organa'?

Maybe they were invented by Darth Plageous before he moved on to 'Violating Medical Ethics By Means Of The Dark Side Of The Force' and therefore got tainted by association?

Possibly. The clone guys in AotC seem to use them, so yeah. But then there's bound to be a GFFA equivalent of Victoria Beckham who would go for it anyway... Actually if they'd had something like that in the EU, it could have been interesting, instead of Skywalker relative #534 falls to the Dark Side.

Is very fond of the Vorkosigans but felt that he didn't really fit when they were living with him. He used to wish that there wasn't so much of a gap between him and the Gruesome Twosome (the term he and Cordelia used for Miles-and-Ivan when they were children; no-one knows now which of them first invented it), but still spent a lot of time playing Cetagandan Invasion and Quest for the Lost Sceptre. He did wish, however, that Miles would stop making him play the Emperor all the time, as the other characters invariably had more fun, but he found it very hard to say no to Miles.
He sometimes wakes in the night and has to check that Laisa's still there and he didn't dream her—or, of course, that she hasn't just been kidnapped by Komarran terrorists.
He remembers his father only as a tall person in a splendid uniform from Emperor's Birthdays and so on; when he thought about him as a child he was imagining a slightly improved version of Aral Vorkosigan, although he didn't realise this until a long time afterwards. He tries not to think about his father much, these days.
He got The Talk from Cordelia before he went off to boarding school aged 12; Aral's input was on the political implications of Imperial bastards and not being too trusting about contraceptive implants. It was a rather traumatising experience, especially Cordelia being so Betan about it.

Misses Jackie Tyler more than you would have expected. He thinks it might takes Mrs Jones a lot longer to start kissing him. Not that he wants her to kiss him, of course...
After the theme tune went up last week, he had to turn the TARDIS back towards Martha's bedroom again to collect clean knickers and a pair of trainers; he explained about the wardrobe room and even offered to shrink a pair of Converses to the appropriate size with the sonic screwdriver, but Martha said that wearing matching shoes would be a bit freaky and she wasn't about to wear anyone else's underwear, thank you very much.

He's vaguely aware that other people's mothers are more fond of their children than his, but he doesn't really think about it, because it's what he's used to.
He was rather badly culture-shocked by going back into school after Falconer's Lure, because the only non-adult he's spent any time with for over two years is Nicola, and his classmates aren't like her. f course he doesn't tell anyone about this, and he's just getting used to school again when the new headmaster arrives and the school is abruptly relocated from 1950 to 1975.
He ends up going to Colebridge Grammar, and doing History and Latin A-levels in the interstices of hawking and riding, surprising his parents by getting rather good grades. After that, I have no idea.

He's ambidextrous, although he writes with his right hand.
When he was very small, he had an imaginary friend: a little girl with big brown eyes and long dark hair. Fortunately, the Larses didn't know of Leia's existence, or Uncle Owen would have gone ballistic (probably on Obi-Wan).
His formal schooling ended at fifteen. His self-education is limited by what he can get hold off, and by his own interests, so it's heavily skewed towards engineering and science. When he joins the Rebellion, he finds that there is an awful lot of general knowledge and culture and literature ans history that he's simply missed. Being a bright kid, he doesn't like this much, and spends a fair amount of his spare time filling in the gaps. This impresses his squadron mates with his intellect.
