owlA funny thing happened when my dad went to the butcher's to pick up our turkeys etc. He asked for three sausages as an afterthought. The butcher's assisant blinked at him. 'Was that three pounds or three sausages?' 'Three sausages,' my dad said.
On the way home, my dad checked his stuff. Nestled in the corner, in a bag the size of a sparrow's egg, were three cocktail sausages.
Now we know why the poor chap was so bewildered.
