owl: Stylized barn owl (Anakin)
Tonight the population of Ireland will celebrate Samhain as they have for hundreds of years. Does anyone else find that weird in this day and age? See, because of the high population of Catholics, we don't have bonfires and fireworks on the 5th of November like the English, we have them on Hallowe'en. Pumpkins and trick-or-treat have only come in fairly recently, and costumes are not big at all. The tradition food is apple tart with silver coins in it, and it's lucky if you find the silver. I kept one of my Hallowe'en five pences pieces for a couple of years once.

I meant to get up early and type out my MRI essay, but it was cold. Meh. Now I'm going to be late for class.

Belated happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] echotiarra!

Fireworks going off everywhere tonight. It was wild dark going home on the train and there was a constant crackle of fireworks going off.
MRI essay is being a pain. It's less than one page when typed. I'm looking for some pics to bulk it up a bit.
Both my btinternet email addresses have a wild lot of spam this week. I think they must have stopped sorting it to a seperate folder, bother them.
I wrote a Hallowe'en-y type Anakin-in-the-lava drabble on the train, except it's 108 words and I can't find any to cut out. It's part of a bunny Sue gave me in the Han Solo and the Princess November challenge, to write using one of the elements. So I thought, four elements, four Skywalkers, whee! Anakin=fire and Luke=air, obviously. I dithered on the women, but I think Padmé=earth and Leia=water. Padmé's drabble begins: On Alderaan, they bury their dead in the earth, so it looks about as uplifting as the other. The kids' ones are a bit more happy.
