Christmas and cement lorries
Dec. 3rd, 2003 09:22 amThis morning as I was walking along the road, I had the random thought, "It would ROX to come back in another life as a cement mixer lorry." (Yes, bizarre I know) When, five minutes later, I came within a foot of being knocked down by one outside the hospital, I concluded it was karma come to bite me in the butt. Or something.
Full-out Christmas panic last night, compounded with Ihavetoomuchworkon panic. Brought on by both my housemates teeling me they had bought my presents already. I have bought absolutely nada yet. I find it odd that though I'm a Christian, I approaching Christmas with the same pagan (small p) glee as I do a genuine Pagan festival like Hallowe'en. I don't consider it as having anything to do with my Christian life at all. I suppose it comes of being brought up Presbyterian, and is all due to the Regulative Principle. (And if any of you know what that is, I'll write you a Christmas ficlet!)
