I want to see her save someone's life with med student-fu. But that's just me.
I've been going with the 'psychic paper' theory the whole time, personally. When Rose shows up in 1850 wearing psuedo-periodesque clothes, everyone there sees a period-accurate girl because the TARDIS wardrobe is special that way. So if Martha shows up in a time when descrimination was overt and rampant and no one even mentions her skin color, I won't have a problem with it-- I'll assume everyone's seeing her as white. If they clearly know she's black but just don't care, that would be bothersome.
