I really should give up Confidential because it generally annoys me, but I keep being sucked in by David Tennant's Paisley accent. Perhaps if I press mute whenever Rusty comes on?
If you didn't have Rusty banging on in Confidential that Rose was the Doctor's TRU LUV, and Martha's LUV is unfortunately unrequited, my natural conclusion would be that Ten loves them both, but isn't in love with either of them (Nine is a different matter). But then Martha said in Family of Blood that it's unrequited, which leads me to think that the Doctor is just a big tease and is still asexual after all.
I don't understand what excuse the Doctor has for still not requiting, because you know by this stage he'd go 'Rose? Oh, yeah, Rose.' Going by what's actually in the episodes, he's been treating Martha pretty much the same as Rose for about 4 weeks now.
Rusty's saying there'll be a payoff for the unrequited luurve in the finale. But apparently the Doctor is not allowed to love requitedlyexcept Rose, what so does that mean for Martha's future? That Martha stops being in love with him, or that she leaves in some way?
I'm getting tired of everyone being in love with the Doctor. It would have been so good if Martha had never been in love with him in the first place.
Doctor: BUT ALL HUMAN WOMANZ FALLZ IN LUV WIT MEE!
Martha: WTF BBQ HUBRIS? I B SNOGGIN GUEST STARZ NAO KTHANXBAI.
Doctor: I SULKZ NAO.
I am trying carefully to have no expectations of Blink, beyond "At least it's the Moff" and, "It can't be worse than Love and Monsters. I do like Martha's jacket, however (check the BBC site).

I wish SO much that they had let him keep his own accent for the Doctor!

For my money, I'd have been perfectly happy with DT's own accent, and his original concept with the spectacles which was to have The Doctor wearing them all the time. Speccies for the win!

Date: 2007-06-08 03:38 pm (UTC)The insta-luv seemed to start about the second episode, which annoyed me. If it had been first mentioned in Family of Blood when she might have been travelling around with him for weeks it would have been a bit more plausible, but noooo..

Date: 2007-06-09 08:55 pm (UTC)I shall MOURN if Martha dies. I cried when Rose and the Doctor were standing on opposite sides of that wall, and she's alive and saving the world, with or without big yellow trucks and guest appearances by Myfanwy the pterodactyl and random pizza delivery people being recruited because they keep working out what's going on and Torchwood is out of retcon that week.

When he turned round the next year and started saying that the Doctor and Rose were in love and that she was the love of his life..yeah, one time he had to have been lying.
And the whole implication that Rose was going to die...it really had me scared and I don't feel like trusting the veiled hints about anything anymore.

Date: 2007-06-09 10:00 pm (UTC)Multiple times? Apart from the Time Lord Lose Track of Time there's the 'oh, she knows' which could have been 'have a fantastic life' or 'I'm so sorry' or, knowing Ten, some complete random babble if he'd actually said it.

Date: 2007-06-13 02:23 am (UTC)Yes! Seeing Martha make her cow eyes at The Doctor - it's just painful and gets in the way of the plot, IMO.
