This really is terribly good.

Barrayar eats its children. So true. So is He hadn't wanted her, really, only the potential of her, her negative image, the blacks white.

'Oh, don't look at me like that, I can't help being Barrayaran' is brilliant, and so is Gregor, who likes women shaped like me (hah!) describing Lady Vorpatril's tall patrician choices as 'gawky debutantes'.

"Oh, yes," said Cordelia with Betan briskness, "he's bisexual." is a very proper years-later resolution to 'He used to be bisexual, but now he's monogamous', which, whilst I appreciate that Cordelia produced it on the fly whilst dealing with a very touchy social situation that she'd been flung into without much warning, I still think makes about as much sense as 'He used to go to the opera, but now he eats jelly'

Minor nitpick - 'The I'd do what I did with the Dendarii'.
