Yes, it's the aggregate aspect of LJ that works so well for me. I suppose you could use a feed reader but it's such a pest compared to the friends page.
The annoying thing will be if the fandom goes over there and the particular resources I like don't. I wonder should someone mention this to Tor? Somehow they seem much more approachable than LJ...
