I'm surprised they didn't at least have Don in the scene where David and Colby help Megan carry out her boxes. Perhaps they were short on time and Rob was filming the other half of the plot. Still, there should have been a farewell scene, especially since they were setting it up that Megan was having problems with Don's gung-ho attitude, and that that was part of why she was leaving. But then at the end they kind of skipped out of it and put it all on the Charlie plot.
I think this season has been uneven, especially since the strike. Ah well, I like s1 and s3 best, so if that pattern continues...("But it could be much more complex than a simple alternating..." Oh, shut up, young Eppes.)
