owl: Northern Ireland from orbit (home)

The weather is quite horrible at the minute. It's more or less constant downpour, and roads have been flooded and kids having to be rescued from mountain campsites because their route out is now a riverbed.

The postman we have at the minute is a pain in the neck. I live in number xx5, and last week I got a letter for xx7, and today two for xx9. It's not that I mind running up the road and sticking them through the right door, it's not like it's in the ountry where the next-door neighbour is half a mile up the road and two lanes, but it does make me wonder where my post is going. I was expecting a letter from occupational health, and nothing's come yet.

For those who cannot keep up with LJ's 8787 official announcement communities (I hadn't heard of these two either until [livejournal.com profile] __kali__ pointed them out):

Change to Suspend Journal--looks like a one-post lock-down

A load of stuff, including the long-promised journal search and stats, although the way they're implementing it looks more like stalking than stats (there is an opt-out) All I want to see is my referrals, LJ.

I swear summers used to be nice and sunny when I was a kid.

I found somewhere statistics that showed that August is the second wettest month in Wales - April and September being the driest, can't find 'em now.
Childhood in England - memory says that the first two weeks back at school were always hot and sunny, and that summer examinations always took place in a heatwave - but that could be false
