Torchwood Speculation
Nov. 28th, 2006 08:55 pmOkay, I'm sure that 8787 other people have come up with this before me, but what if
Jack isn't alive again, but undead? It would explain so many things: why he can't die, why he allegedly doesn't sleep, why he's so grumpy nowadays, why he's stopped trying to have sex with anything that breathes (does he breathe? Have we heard him breathe? Does he eat, or was it just Tosh passing up the hepatitis-burgers?), the reason why Mary says he smells different.
Like Miles, my subconsciousness came up with this before I did, when I made Jack's analogue in Belfast!Torchwood a vampire.
Anyway, I expect that whatever exactly is up with Jack, the Jack-meets-the-Doctor storyline will involve a reversal of RoseTARDIS's giftcurse to give Jack back an ordinary human lifetime.
This week's episode: UNIT! although this does invite the question: if TW-3 is on list-swapping terms with UNIT, how on earth did Jack manage to miss the Doctor during his UNIT-period?
If you find a girlfriend outside TW, she will be eeevil. If you go for one of the other members, both of you will instantly morph into annoying 14-year-olds. Why, in this universe, are all couples either giggly and annoying (Ten/Rose, Owen/Gwen), or obviously a plot device (Mickey/Rose, Rhys/Gwen)?
I took a look in Forbidden Planet and there were this couple with a small baby in a buggy. Daddy (who had a ponytail halfway down his back) was holding his very small daughter up to a rack of comics. Carefully imprinting her, like a baby bird...
