Halloween was over and apparently the stores had nothing better to do. The Walmart lady was already sick to death of Jingle Bells. :p

Tried this and got 144 (I think) with the aid of the aid of the anagram solver on my Sharp Oxford electronic dictionary. Sadly, I am probably not a genius, but maybe my dictionary is.
