I don't think that I've ever known quite what people mean by feeling Christmassy.
I remember getting a huge thrill when I was about six, and my mother surprised me at Christmas by repainting my shabby secondhand dolls' house, but that wasn't a Christmasy feeling so much as a "thank you" feeling.
I always loathed Christmas dinner and could never see the point of turkey or Christmas pudding. Fortunately I lived for many years with people who shared my view of turkey, so I haven't eaten it since I was about 18.
I think that perhaps people with large families understand Christmas better than I do.
