I just received two comment notifications from the end of June.

I don't know about that; I haven't been receiving some of my most recent e-mail notifications, while my inbox is being fileld with those old comments. Fun.

I think I remember reading on lj_maintenance that they've figured out where the missing comment notifications are going, but that they're still trying to figure out a way to 1) stop them from going there and 2)get the old backlog out.

My guess is the flood of old notifications (which I got some of, too) is part of the 2nd part.

And I suppose for you it's multiplied up to the Nth, because of all the replies you get to your art posts.
