Okay, who thinks the whole premise of this two-parter was that they could set the sky on fire? Great visual, but I kept thinking, "Okay, that's going to be great for global warming...Wait, haven't you just used up all the oxygen in the atmosphere?"

Donna's mum and her axe for the win! I was sure it would be Donna herself. Ah well, she was awesome later in the ep.

Oooh. Rose is the ghost in the machine here.

I loved the Doctor turning the chanting Sontarans over to the cartoon station. And him communicating with Donna sekritly.

Ross! Oh, Ross! I knew he was a redcapshirt, but still....

How did they manage to get North Korea to co-operate? Not to mention India and Pakistan on the same side? I thought UNIT came off better in this one. And it plays differently than an American version of the same set-up would, I love that.

The Brig! The Brig is in Peru! Sir Alastair!

I loved the "Are you my mummy?" crack with everyone in the gas masks. And a nice use of the Valiant. Oh, now we're going to blow things up.

Yay Donna! The fact that she is so scared and goes and does it anyway is great. She's, to quote the Doctor's usual accolade, so very human.

Yay double the Martha! I love how she comes up fighting and gets the information out of her clone. And the scene with the two of them as the clone's dying.

Liked the Doctor exasperatedly flinging the gun aside, although you might wanted to consider if it's loaded before you do that.

Goodbye scene! "You too Martha. So many times." Squee!

Okay, I never had any sympathy for genius boy, he just came off as a brat, so sacrificing himself when he sees he's been duped is fair enough. The Doctor seemed reluctant to press the button, giving them the last chance even though he knows the Sontarans never give in. Yay Doctor.

I love that Martha ran to the Doctor and hugged him, and Donna ran to him and slapped him. :)

Martha in the Doctor's coat! Heh!

Can they hit us over the head any harder with the save-the-environment stick? Seems like all my programmes are doing that lately.

Aaaand the TARDIS has kidnapped them. Interesting.

Next week looks kind of strange, doesn't it? More Doctor angst on the way, I suspect.

Oh yes, I totally forgot the Rose moment! And he's turning Donna into a soldier of a sort, too.

But I thought it was a great episode.

I hope there were no planes in the air when he set that off. Somehow, I doubt it would do much for your average airliner much good if it got caught up in something like that.

I apparently blinked during the Rose moment and was thus highly confused by her presence in the credits. :p

One does best to not think about the science on Doctor Who. :p And they've always been fond of the environment stick. Or at least Three really was. :p

Doctor Who science is rubbish, but the fire wouldn't necessarily consume all the oxygen in the atmosphere - fires need fuel and oxygen, so if the fuel ran out first, then the fire would still go out even if there was oxygen left over. Otoh, I can't work out why it wouldn't have set everything else on fire, especially as there were large pockets of the gas at ground level (very low combustion point?), so it's still basically an incoherent excuse for a Shiny Special Effect....

I love Donna. And I squeed at the mention of the Brig, too.
