The Unicorn and the Wasp
May. 17th, 2008 10:02 pmThey were totally setting up a drinking game of 'Swig every time we work a Christie title into the script', weren't they?
I noticed the jewel thief girl using 'toilet', but I assumed that it was just the writers messing up, because they'd already messed up with using Lady Firstname Title and Lady Title for the same person.
Cluedo reference, heh!
And once more Donna and the Doctor have been mistaken for a couple.
And the Doctor has to dissuade his companion from putting on a silly accent again. It's happened with all three of them now, Rose in Victorian Scotland, Martha with Shakespeare and now Donna.
Aaaaand Donna gets her kiss that's not really a kiss. It looked like it was a shock to him, all right. Loved the charades!
Giant insects, eeek! I liked Donna and her magnifying glass, although in reality it wouldn't have worked fast enough to be effective.
I liked Agatha helping them solve the crimes, and the way she called the Doctor out on the laugh-a-minute antics, and the way they tied it in with her real-life disappearance.
Felt just a little rushed, though. Again. I don't know, I didn't engage very much with this episode or something.

I think you're right about it being rushed. Maybe it would have been a bit too slow as four half-hour episodes in the old Who format, but it definitely felt like it wanted to be ninety minutes.
