Beta version under testing here.

It's a lot better than the last attempt they made. The only problems for me are 1) too much whitespace at the top and not enough at the bottom 2) still no link to the tags page after how many years?

This was me hacking around with the code for ten minutes to try to fix the excess whitespace.

What do you all think of it?

I don't think there is too much white space. I considered that you might have a paid account and may not see the big ad that I see on my page when I turned it on, so I checked. I didn't see the ad on your page, but I still didn't think it looked bad. I prefer too much white space to too little.

*shrugs* Like I said, it doesn't bother me either way.

Even if it bothered every person on LJ, it still wouldn't bother me. It's actually a liquid layout, meaning it uses percents to set the widths of the containers so it does stretch to fit the screen. It's just that there isn't much text at the top and they had to save space for the ads. I realize that you think that paid LJs should look better, but paid LJs are not how they really make money, ads are, so those will always be prominent.

As far as I'm concerned, they can redesign the user page all they want, as long as users retain the ability to customize their journal pages.

I like it! I don't get any whitespace at all with IE 6.

I like the way it separates out which communities you have posting access to, and in general it seems quite inoffensive.

I don't like the stupid 'send v-gift' being up at the top, or 'to-do list' which I never use, and I don't think 'schools' belongs in the basic info. This isn't Friends Reunited.

I think the world is divided into people who make to-do lists (who probably already have software for it or use Google, or write lists on bits of paper) and people who don't, and don't want the feature.

You're right about the lack of any link to the tags page. Baffling.
