I'm not starting now either, and for the first time I'm registered in a marginal constituency. It's mildly exciting.

One of the things that shocked me about living in the UK was that our liberals are fiscally more conservative than your conservatives (evidence all the chest-beating about how giving people the option of buying health insurance from the government would surely lead to the collapse of civilization).

Congrats on deciding to run the marathon! I'm sure you will do wonderfully.

I think even the Tories would hesitate to suggest that people would have to buy health care. Getting rid of the NHS would be a slow and difficult process likely to lead to widespread outrage and uprisings.

It always amused me slightly to see Obama called a socialist. No, no he's not. He's a moderate conservative. The fact that he is to the left of your far-right party does not make him left-wing.

Yes, I think it's funny when people call him a socialist too. Our definitions of "liberal" and "conservative" have been frakked since the outbreak of the Cold War, really.

Having had to deal with the so-called "Tea Party" at work all the time, it's become pretty clear that they're mostly angry because he's black, and make up pretenses because it's not ok to say so.
