Why, in the Poa pics, is Hermione's hair so straight? This annoys me.

It's a minor irritation for me... of course, it looks like a lot of the pictures we've seen of the Trio so far are from the latter part of the movie, so maybe it's just that part. The... humidity, the rain, or something.

*shrugs* Reaching, yeah. But you kind of have to let the little things slide... like how Harry has neither green eyes nor black hair, how if you follow what the movies have established, Harry should have been seeing thestrals in CoS... *shakes head* At least the HP movies don't come anywhere near the book butchery that a certain Peter Jackson does...

To be fair they didn't know about the Thestrals when they were filming PS, as it was long before OotP came out. I think it bugs me more than Harry's hair and eyes because of all the fics where Hermione magically gets straight hair. It's tied up with my identification with her as geeky!bookworm!notbothered withSleakeasy!Hermione

True - although I would've thought JKR would tell them Harry seeing Quirrell die would contradict the future canon - and anyway, you'd think Harry would be traumatized seeing a guy crumble right before him, but nope, he's cool as a cucumber.

Yes, and wearing makeup and suddenly is a lot more curvy and Harry and Ron are blibbering drooling fools over HermioneSue all of a sudden... ergh. I understand.
