I don't really like the implication that Anakin was conceived via Darth Plagious' manipulations. I liked thinking of him as the son of the Force itself, not some genetically-engineered cogwheel in the Sithly Cunning Plan (TM). Although I suppose it is irony, that the man designed to be the Sith's ultimate weapon ended up destroying them forever. But I still liked it better the other way. At least it wasn't stated outright. And, as ladyaeryn pointed out, it may all have been a lie. Palpatine is not noted for his sterling truthfulness.

This would go by the assumption that Palps was telling the truth about the whole creating-life story to begin with - I'm not convinced it was anything more than a huge load of bull that Palps was selling.
