I don't really like the implication that Anakin was conceived via Darth Plagious' manipulations. I liked thinking of him as the son of the Force itself, not some genetically-engineered cogwheel in the Sithly Cunning Plan (TM). Although I suppose it is irony, that the man designed to be the Sith's ultimate weapon ended up destroying them forever. But I still liked it better the other way. At least it wasn't stated outright. And, as [livejournal.com profile] ladyaeryn pointed out, it may all have been a lie. Palpatine is not noted for his sterling truthfulness.

Anakin wasn't born evil...he was created by evil. That's different I think. To get all...whatever, Satan was created by God. Satan wasn't good, he chose evil. Just like everyone else chose their paths. Does that make sense? Offense unintended, if any was perceived.

Right, I understand completely. I just personally think the story sounds better if he was, as orignally understood, this being created by the Force for the sake of destroying the Sith. That makes the fall much more tragic to me. He was good, he was full of promise, but the combination of poor choices/judgement on his part combined with bad handling by his mentors made it entirely easy for Palpatine's manipulations to work.

No offense taken at all. :)
