I don't really like the implication that Anakin was conceived via Darth Plagious' manipulations. I liked thinking of him as the son of the Force itself, not some genetically-engineered cogwheel in the Sithly Cunning Plan (TM). Although I suppose it is irony, that the man designed to be the Sith's ultimate weapon ended up destroying them forever. But I still liked it better the other way. At least it wasn't stated outright. And, as
ladyaeryn pointed out, it may all have been a lie. Palpatine is not noted for his sterling truthfulness.

Not only irony, it would be the ultimate "you can rise above your origins" statement - even if you're born of Sith doings, you can choose the Light.
