I don't really like the implication that Anakin was conceived via Darth Plagious' manipulations. I liked thinking of him as the son of the Force itself, not some genetically-engineered cogwheel in the Sithly Cunning Plan (TM). Although I suppose it is irony, that the man designed to be the Sith's ultimate weapon ended up destroying them forever. But I still liked it better the other way. At least it wasn't stated outright. And, as ladyaeryn pointed out, it may all have been a lie. Palpatine is not noted for his sterling truthfulness.

Well, I like the evil little doubt that was thrown in. Palpatine may or may not have been lying, we'll never know.

Although I suppose it is irony, that the man designed to be the Sith's ultimate weapon ended up destroying them forever.

Not only irony, it would be the ultimate "you can rise above your origins" statement - even if you're born of Sith doings, you can choose the Light.
