owl: Harry and friends, at the Ministry (ootp)

I'm happy, mostly.

I wasn't expecting Harrycrux! I liked it, though, and resurrecting!Harry, and the gateway to the afterlife being King's Cross.

Snape: Lily'sDumbledore's man, through and through. *sniff* And so exceedingly Doomed.

Sneaky of JKR to throw in another set of magical objects when we were all so focused on the Horcruxes. Yeah, yeah, plot tokens. It worked for me in The Dark is Rising, so (BTW, ARGH terrible adaptation it burns us, precious).

I'm a bit confused about what way the Trace on the underage wizards works, because before it was the house not the wizard, and also where Gryffindor's sword is now and how annoyed Griphook was not to keep it...and where Harry finds out what Lily's Patronus is. Plot hole?

I must go and look at the Harmaniacs' reactions to the epilogue :) Also, I can't help thinking that "She's like my sister," he went on. "I love her like a sister and I reckon she feels the same way about me. It's always been like that. I thought you knew."

was written just for them.

And, oh, Remus and Tonks! Dobby!! Fred! Snape! Hedwig! Remus and Tonks! *cries*

Neville was brilliant, and his granny! And I liked seeing Luna's dad, and the return of the DA, and Snape's memories of Lily, and Dudley, and Percy coming back and actually making a joke, Ron stomping off and coming back, Molly taking out Bellatrix, and Kreacher and the house-elves (and SPEW being vindicated), and Trelawney flinging crystal balls, Hermione's Mary Poppins!handbag, and Luna and the exploding horn, and Dumbledore having a dodgy past and being so manipulative and yet still (for me) sympathetic.

I loved the way the clues from previous books fitted together. I can't believe it's all over!

I am so glad Neville's gran came round to realising he's not just a waste of space at last. Took her long enough. And that she made mincemeat of the Men from the Ministry like the terrifying old personage she is.

I adore the way Snape turned out, and that Harry named his son after him (Albus Severus).

Very happy about Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione, but slightly disappointed that there was no Neville/Luna.

Very sobby book. When Harry's in his own private Gethsemane and everyone who's died is there with him, very very effective.

Yeah, but there was nothing that contradicted Neville/Luna, either, no? ;) They're both alive at the end of the book, and neither of them is given an official love interest, so...

Speaking of people not being given official love interests, did you notice how in the epilogue, Draco is married but his wife isn't mentioned by name? I don't think JKR intended it, but she's now given everyone an excuse to marry off their Mary Sue to Draco, ack.

I think he probably married Pansy Parkinson. They totally deserved each other. (And hey--she's a Mary Sue in her own mind!)

Heheh, yeah, I think his wife is Pansy too.

Not really interested enough to read the interviews, but nice to know she's leaning towards N/L.

I kind of expected HarryCrux. I imagine Neville is now in possession of the Sword, and it's probably still at Hogwarts. I'm still trying to digest the book as a whole, mostly because I finished it about 9 hours ago, but mostly I was pleased.
