It's not the pink hoodie and the rainbow belt that bother me (although hoodies of that kind only came into fashion in the late 90s over here, and you wouldn't have seen them in 1993). I can live with the hoodie. It isn't even the shorter, smoother-curled hair.

It's the blonde.

When I look at these PoA publicity stills, I don't see Hermione Granger, swotty, opinionated, bushy-haired, brunette teenage witch; I see Emma Watson, well-groomed, fashion-conscious, precociously sexy teenage actress. My disbelieve remains stubbornly unsuspended.

Excatly! They seemed to get Harry's hair "right" this go round. Why is Hermione's hair smooth and sytlish? How on earth are they going to show her "transformation" in GoF? Give her breast implants?

Personally it's everything about this Hermione that bothers me, including the clothes. No matter what Hermione would not be caught dead in a pink hoodie. And I most heartily agree, the hair is far too pretty, it's disgusting.

THe pink hoodie doesn't really bother me much but the hair ... yeah. It really bothers me. Emma is playing Emma, not Hermione.

I think we'll not be sure about whom she's playing until we actually see her *playing* some scenes -- I doubt that either the clothes or the hair were her own choice to make...

If the script and the acting are "Hermione", then the clothes or the hair are a rather secondary issue, I think...

Actually, it's not the hair that bugs me, even though it's not bushy (not that it was really bushy in CoS or SS). The clothes are the things that bug me. I want the uniform back! Why is she wearing fashionable muggle clothes? The pink is too fashion conscious, the rainbow belt even more so. The jeans I can tolerate (just), but I want her to wear her skirt and sweater again. It seems too casual.

The clothes aren't even in the fahion of 1993, they're 2003. But I can stand anything but the blonde!

I don't know, to me it seems an integral part of Hermione that she doesn't bother being 'pretty' normally. It's tied up with her insecurities and so on. Probably a guy doesn't understand.
