owl: Don and Charlie, fighting over a game controller (Eppes boys)

I really liked this episode!

Aw, it's the return of Charlie's cocky enthusiasm. Kind of sweet, but I have an inkling he's headed for an Uncertainty Principle-type fall.

I am amused by Alan's insulting the skills of high school valedictorians, and Charlie and Amita's simultaneous protests. Charlie was valedictorian at 13? He must have been really good at everything that wasn't English. This is setup for the episode with the basketball team, right?

I liked the scene with Liz arguing with David with her hair all wrecked, and Don's I-am-pulling-this-car-over-right-now attitude, and Colby's 'What did I do?" made me lol.

"You'd better hope you don't have a daughter." Oh, Colby, you kill me!

I never thought when Liz first arrived on the cast that I'd enjoy a Liz-centric episode so much. But then, I always thought Agent Liz was a big improvement on Girlfriend Liz. It was interesting seeing her working with the DEA agent, made her character more rounded. And I liked the action scenes, and felt really nervous for her when she was alone with the drug dealer and he made her strip.

I had to snerk at Liz leaving Charlie with his hand in the air for a high-five. Watch yourself, Warner, if you're too mean to Charlie Don won't like it.

I liked Alan saying that they knew Charlie wouldn't get an athletic scholarship and Amita soothing his ruffled feathers and saying the knew he didn't need one. And the basketball giving Charlie an epiphany moment.

*aw* at Amita trying to calm Charlie down when he was freaking out about his model not predicting events.

Poor David must feel like he's the only person on the team who doesn't have a nasty habit of withholding vital information and coming up with their own little plans, after Don in Arrow of Time.

Aw, and he got his promotion. Long weekends? Who is this and what has he done with Don Eppes? Talk about mellowed.

I loved Alan teaching Amita about basketball, and her trying to learn for the sake of her sports-mad adopted family. I'm sure a lot of people hated her asking Alan what was up with Charlie not proposing, but I thought it was realistic. Her own parents are far away, she doesn't actually know there's anything wrong in her relationship with Charlie. My theory is that Charlie's forgotten they aren't married already :)

And what a lovely brother moment. I love that Don has found his peace with fighting the little battles, and that his door (cubicle) is always open for Charlie, and his way of finishing the conversation with a cushion fight and his adorable little yelp as Charlie barraged him with multiple cushions. I wonder if it was scripted or adlibbed. DK looked really startled when the cushion hit him. :)

Also, light! Clearly Rob Morrow is sick of acting in the dark. Hope the other directors take heed.

I absolutely *loved* Amita asking Alan 'what's up with that?' Absolutely loved.

I've been trying to figure out why, and I think it's partially because she is ready to get married to him, and is waiting for him to buy a clue. I dunno, I just loved the intimacy between her and Alan it showed, and I think it's a perfectly logical question for her to be asking, of someone who knows Charlie better/as well as she does.

The above is no real decent/coherent explanation for why I loved it, I know. But, I don't think I can figure quite why I did.

It's a combination of God and Robin. *g*

Colby wasn't in this episode much, but I loved every minute of him. Go figure.

I'm sure a lot of people hated her asking Alan what was up with Charlie not proposing, but I thought it was realistic.

I think it's realistic, too, especially since Alan has been involved in their relationship as some parents are not--being that they all share a house, more or less.

I'm with you on the idea that Charlie's forgotten they're not married already, because he would, and because they seem to be on really good footing with each other right now. I'm waiting for the actual wedding, though, after this little discussion. :)

Pillow fight!

I loved this episode as well. All sorts of good character/relationship stuff. Everyone's really grown so much in the last couple of seasons.

My theory is that Charlie's forgotten they aren't married already :)

The absent minded professor strikes again :) I think he may think about it sometimes but then gets distracted by math stuff. Or I could totally by into your theory as well. I thought Amita asking "What's up with that?" was cute and showed how great her relationship with Alan actually is.

the candle-lit dinner cliché

Doesn't seem very Charlie like at all. I bet he just blurts it out in his office one day; totally unprepared and ringless :)

much as I want Amita to be happy, I don't think Charlie's going to be much help in that regard.
